Compare
Screen Studio or StageMaster?
Both make good-looking product videos on a Mac. The difference is who does the work. With Screen Studio, you record and you talk. With StageMaster, your coding agent writes the video, and StageMaster films it and voices it.
What Screen Studio is great at
Screen Studio is a Mac app that makes your own screen recordings look finished. You record as you normally would, and it adds the polish.
- Zoom that follows your clicks, made for you.
- A smooth cursor, even when your hand was not.
- Backgrounds, padding and rounded corners around your recording.
- Your camera and your microphone, recorded with the screen.
If you like to show your product in your own voice, it is one of the nicest ways to do it.
What StageMaster does differently
- Your agent writes it, and StageMaster films it. Ask Claude Code or Codex for a video. The agent writes every spoken line and every click. StageMaster performs them in your app and records the window in one take.
- You don't record your voice. 54 natural voices, in nine languages, run on your Mac. Change a word, and only that line is voiced again.
- A change is a new take, not a new session. Fix the line or the click that was wrong, and record again. Every take follows the same script.
- Free, with every feature. Exported videos carry a small watermark. A one-time license removes it, for two Macs, with no subscription.
StageMaster has zoom, backgrounds, subtitles and trim too. And when you want to, you can still record by hand.

Which one to pick
Pick Screen Studio if
- You want to present in your own voice, or with your face on camera.
- You record many short clips and want them polished with no editing.
- You don't use a coding agent.
Pick StageMaster if
- You'd rather describe the video than perform it.
- You don't want to record your own voice.
- Your product changes often, and the video has to keep up.
- You need the same video in more than one language.
Some people use both: Screen Studio for a quick personal clip, and StageMaster for the launch video they will update next month.
